Ayurveda (Ayur = Life, Veda = knowledge) is the knowledge of life and is the oldest medical science in the world. It is not a medicine for "curing" diseases but also "preventing" diseases. Ayurveda has been the mother of several modern medical practices and branches of surgeries such as surgery for piles, plastic surgery have all evolved from this ancient art. In the practice of Ayurveda, every patient is a cosmos with in is an amalgamation of his "prakriti", "doshas" and "atma". Thus, each patient has a very individualized therapy program curtailed to his/ her requirements.
